  "I'll be working tonight, honey"
It's funny how we hear those words when we were kids. Not often in my family, but once in a while. I always had a picture in my head of my mom/dad working on her/his desk while everyone has gone home. Such a solemn picture of them trying to provide for their family.

Now I work late too (sometimes...) and so do my colleagues.

But yesterday we went out. We ate, we went to a bar for drinks, we played stupid drinking games and told stupid jokes and laughed a little bit too much (I was drinking tea though..) . Then I looked around. What do you think they would have told their children?

I could almost hear it.
"I'll be working tonight, honey..."

I smiled. Thinking of the times my mom and dad went out for drinks. Just taking a breather and have some fun on their own. Acting not as parents but as friends. Now I'm doing that (granted I don't have kids).

It was then, in the middle of eski bar surrounded by my colleagues (who were all high) that it hit me.

I'm a working adult.

Funny how I never realized it.
